Privacy Policy — ATSFixer Job Summarizer

Chrome extension · Last updated: October 27, 2026 · ATSFixer Inc.

This policy explains how the ATSFixer Job Summarizer Chrome extension (the "Extension") handles data. The Extension reads a job posting you choose, shows you a structured summary of it, and can open that summary in the ATSFixer web app so you can tailor your resume to the job. When you use the ATSFixer web app itself, the main ATSFixer Privacy Policy applies.

In short: the Extension needs no account and collects no personal information. It reads a page only when you click its icon. Job-posting text is sent to ATSFixer only to fill in fields the page didn't provide, and you can turn that off. We don't sell data, show ads, or track your browsing.

1. What the Extension reads

When you click the Extension's icon, it reads the content of the current tab only to find the job posting: job title, company, location, company description, responsibilities, requirements, skills, benefits and similar details. It does not run on pages you haven't clicked it on and does not read other tabs, your browsing history, cookies, passwords or form inputs.

2. What stays on your device

The following is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). Only the install ID is ever sent to us, and only with an AI-fill request (section 3):

3. What is sent to ATSFixer, and why

Many job pages are summarized entirely on your device. When a page is missing required fields, or they couldn't be read reliably (common on LinkedIn), and AI fill is on (the default), the Extension sends the following over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to ATSFixer's server:

DataPurpose
The job posting's text (up to 24,000 characters)To extract the missing fields
Fields already found on the page (e.g. job title, company) — never page URLsContext, so the result is consistent
The random install IDTo enforce a fair-use limit (currently 25 AI fills per day)
Your IP address (seen by any web server)Abuse prevention: a daily request limit per network, kept in memory and reset daily

Our server passes the job text to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude API), which returns the extracted fields. We do not store the job text or the result on our servers. Our server logs keep only operational information, such as request counts and processing time, without the job content. Anthropic processes the text under its commercial terms and does not use API inputs to train its models.

Turning off "Use ATSFixer AI to fill fields the page didn't provide" in Options stops all of the above. The Extension then works fully on your device.
